Habit Triggers

Habit triggers can assist with successfully incorporating a new habit.  Here is a short list of habit trigger ideas: 


  1. Change your password to a habit reminder.  "IamaFitnessFiend".
  2. Environment triggers such as running shoes by the door.
  3. Vision board where you see it often.
  4. MyIntent bracelet.
    1. We bought inexpensive tools to make these for ourselves so we can change them up as often as we want.
  5. Phone screen background.
  6. Tattoo/sharpie
    1. I write things on my hands and arms A LOT!
  7. Visualizations.
  8. Habit reward
    1. Take something you look forward to in your day, for me that's coffee, and set it as your reward for doing something else.  I get a cup of coffee after I finish my gallon of water for the day.
  9. Set reminders on your phone.
    1. I really like the this app.
  10. Accountability partner.
    1. This can be especially helpful to those that struggle with personal motivation.
  11. If/Then planning
    1. If I want to vape, I will sip water.
    2. If I want french fries, I will eat pork rinds.
